this is a great shot and i have been thinking about doing something like this in my city along with stories. What did you shoot this with? I think you did a fine job with the conversion.

Hi Hilary,

I love doing this kinda of shooting, I have 3 really good friends that come with me on sort of urban exploration trips to cities. We usually just end up meeting and talking to the most interesting people. I HIGHLLYY encourage you to experience it.

I shot this picture with a digital rebel XT with a 80-300 lens...I recommend atleast 100mm for street portraits as the extra distance between you and your subject makes them way more comfortable.

thanks devin! you have definitley encouraged me to do so. I was thinking about doing it with my hasselblad, but if i decide to do it with my 20D, i have the perfect 100mm lens. i also forgot to mention your cropping is perfect.

i try to stay as "traditional" as i can. I love shooting portraits with my 4x5, and i haven't gotten much use out of my hasselblad (finding an excuse to use it, a series perhaps?). And yes, "Her Silent Awakening" are self portraits. HSA are my initials :)
