The strange looking rocky formation formed by primaeval volcanic

activity of Mother Earth attracted

people since the unknown past. Hidden in a valley at its foot and in a

cave bellow its peak,

now almost forgotten San people painted animals, hunters and divine

creatures who visited

them in their dreams thousands of years ago.

Shona people who later inhabited the territory inherited the mountain

and called it

Ngomakurira, which is "The place where you can hear the sound of the

ancestral drums". Locals

say that at times they can hear beat of drums coming from the

mountain. Legend has it that this is the long ago passed away fathers

who come here as messengers from the Other Side.

Michal - I am really drawn to the colours in the sky in this one and certainly the gradation of from light to dark from midway to top of the image.

One of the best IR I've ever seen. There's really something else than a simple photo here... The tones, the light, the composition... All is wonderful. Great mood, my mind is caught.

Michale, velmi nadherny obrazek. It has a dreamy surreal look, just the way I like it. I love Africa , I have a feeling my soul resides there . You may enjoy my travel writing about Namaqua and Kalahari on the web link- see my personal info. Where do you live just now? ahoj zdravi jana z NL

Very nice. Beautiful colors and composition.

Maybe a little more detail in the lower left shadows.
