mcgarity 0 Posted May 13, 2005 This photo has a lot of potential. The scene itself and the lighting are interesting. The colors are nice. Unfortunately its very unlevel. You could straighten it out quite easily in Photoshop and that would do much to improve the picture. 4/5 Link to comment

jreades 0 Posted May 13, 2005 This is probably where we get into the realm of pure opinion, but this photo seems to me to be missing something. On the technical side, there is a definite colour shift towards purple around the lights (this is tough to avoid, but gives everything a colour cast). And the off-level camera angle combined with the motion-blurred foliage makes things feel a little drunken to me. But I think what I'm having the most difficulty with is the sign on the left-hand wall in the background -- have you considered converting this photo to black and white and then cloning out the sign? I think that that might give this shot a much more pleasingly mysterious 'look'. More of the early detective film feel where the victim staggers out of an alley thinking "If I can just reach safety...", if you know what I mean. As I said, pure opinion and perhaps my idea is a rubbish one. HTH. jon Link to comment
clayton_berg 0 Posted May 13, 2005 I agree that the lighting and the scene is interesting. My only problems with this photo is the fact that it is tilted (already mentioned) and the foliage on the top part of the frame. I gave a 5/5, but had you found a way to frame this shot without the distracting foliage at the top, and if it was straight I would have rated higher. Otherwise, it is interesting. Link to comment
