Jeri, how do you protect this succulent from freezing? Agave will handle frost but I thought it freezes easily which kills it.

We live in Temecula,Ca in the De luz area. It has a micro climate where they grow a lot of avocado trees. We rarely get frost.

I passed through Temecula on my way to Anza-Borrego this spring. I was surprised how far the sprawl has spread... I drove down from Antelope Valley and then at Temecula crossed the mountains... I didn't feel comfortable till I was well into the mountains.

Yes Temecula has been ruined by developers. We live on the west side in the foothills on five acres of oaks. Been their 20 yrs now. Only go to town when I have to. I love Anza-Borega. I have lots of photos of dez.

I like this a lot, too! Such great lines and colors. I visited Temecula a couple weeks ago. My son is starting school in Marrieta Hot Springs next month. You have a lot of great photo subjects down there!

Thanks for the positive comment. It is a small world. I would trade your photo ops with Temecula, any day. Regards Jeri
