cghubbell 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Taken during a landscape workshop at Durand Eastman Park near my home. I love the feel of the East coast forest in this one... The long windy roots and the rich pine needles. This is natural saturation from a rather heavy rain going on at the time. It was a bit chilly, but very beautiful area. I appreciate any thoughts and criticisms. Link to comment
mcgarity 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I like the composition and the color saturation. But I do think you could safely up the contrast a bit. Might want to try running it through Unsharp mask before any other processing and use the following settings, amount 20 %, radius 60 pixels, threshold 0. That won't sharpen an image because the amount is too low but it does improve most images. You still have to sharpen later as you normally would. 5/6 Link to comment
cghubbell 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I agree with you... This thumbnail is lacking in contrast. It's very difficult to get the same look in a 680px thumb that you have on a 8x12 print... The print has wonderful contrast. I'll give your suggestion a try... I haven't played with contrast sharpening very much, so this seems like a good excuse to try. Thanks for your feedback!
