jmcconnell2 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Very good composition Jeri, sharp as a tack, with great detail, 6/6 Link to comment
bens 0 Posted April 28, 2005 interesting enough idea, but the highlights are blown out a little too much on the wheel, and the background is too cluttered for my taste. Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted April 28, 2005 Thanks for the comments Jim and Ben. I was going for the composition with the wheel, roof line, and pot. It was a bright midmorning shot. The wheel spokes are a little bright from the sun, but I didn't want to over saturate the background. I could have used ps but I stayed with the natural shot. Link to comment
sallycd 0 Posted April 30, 2005 I like a clutter photo, especially showing old things like these. Thanks. Link to comment
andrey1 0 Posted May 11, 2005 Jeri, I am obsessed with butchering my and others people's photos lately, but this one is good enough to avoid much blood :) I only find it a bit too bright (looks like harsh sun). So I'd adjust levels to make it darker - it removes the eye-hurting feeling, and the rusty texture looks more pronounced in the darker version. But that wheel very photogenic, and you got the composition just right :) Where did you find it? Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted May 11, 2005 Yes I could have saturated it more. The sun was bright in the morning. Your version is good. I have one just like it that I adj with PS. This wheel is in front of our cactus garden. Thanks for the comment. Link to comment
sondra kick 0 Posted July 3, 2005 Good composition and detail, Jeri. I don't see on my monitor where the wheel is blown. Could use more saturation and contrast. Cheers, Sondra Link to comment
ken_thalheimer 3,739 Posted August 6, 2005 Have to say I like Andrey's adjusted levels version. The original composition is the same. I like the wheel spokes dominating and radiating from lower left. Makes a very strong shot Link to comment
paulhenriimages 0 Posted June 8, 2006 This in my humble opinion is perfect-does not need any adjustments. It's all subjective I guess and this is just the kind of image I really love to shoot and look at. Nice DOF also. Paul Henri Link to comment
jlt 0 Posted June 9, 2006 Thanks for stopping by Paul. I'm glad you agree with me about the saturation level. This is how the wheel really looks. Link to comment
