db1664878771 0 Posted April 21, 2005 I love roses! Perhaps a tighter crop would look nice too? Link to comment
manikandan_narendran 0 Posted April 21, 2005 Good shot...Contrasting styles of the flowers are nicely captured. Link to comment
razvan 0 Posted April 21, 2005 Nice rose, good colors, but I like more that with the crop! 6/6 Regards, Razvan. Link to comment
j_m_lee_photography 0 Posted April 21, 2005 Yeah, Tighter crop would be a better choice. It would be also nice to see a better DOF only if the roses behind is sharper. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted April 22, 2005 Agree that the tighter crop & the sharpness enhance the petals details. But the original is still a beautiful rose in the softer version. Link to comment
julio_segura_carmona1 4 Posted April 22, 2005 Un bello encuadre,, composicion,,,y un color muy bien saturado,,, saludos. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted April 22, 2005 The original is nice with the soft background,in the croped one the rose is accentuated.good details. Pnina Link to comment
kim_tural 0 Posted April 22, 2005 Nice shot Pulok. Great colours. I have to agree that the cropped version is more striking but your version has a softness that I enjoy as well. Perhaps adding the black colour to the frame also helped accentuate it. Link to comment
pantelimonescu 0 Posted April 22, 2005 elegant rose great colours and lovely DOF!! I think the crop version offered by Don has more strenght in it :-) Cheers Tudor Link to comment
nicholasprice 0 Posted April 22, 2005 Hello Pulok. A red rose - very appropriate for 23rd April, which is St George's day! This is a well executed photograph! - the secondary area of red in the out of focus background, serves to stregthen the image. The focusing of the red rose is spot on, and the high contrast red/green composition is both striking, and powerful! Regards, Nick. Link to comment
harnstrom1 0 Posted April 23, 2005 I love the colours. Nice DOF and background. Beautiful picture. Kind regards. Link to comment

amalsircar 2 Posted April 23, 2005 Beautiful rose and capture. I also feel a tighter crop will do justice to the rose,Pulok. Link to comment
pulok 1 Posted April 25, 2005 for the nice criticism and rates. Don Bailey; Thank you very much for the PS work on my photo. I didn't want to crop out the beautiful green background. Now I feel, after getting the feedback, that I could try to increase the shrapness as Don did using USM. Actually while applying USM, I generally check the larger version (~3MP) image, then reduce to (~1MP) for uploading to PN. I don't try USM on the final image which is wrong as I came to know now. Kindest regards.... Link to comment
paula grenside 0 Posted April 25, 2005 I am of two minds about crop non-crop. While the cropping suggested does enhance the beauty of the rose in the foreground, I also liked the three buds peeking in the background. Anyway, whatever you decide, the macro is really good. Link to comment
chips2 0 Posted April 29, 2005 Pulok .. I'm for the background .I like your crop it give it much space , much nicer ...! Link to comment
