Solitude at Delicate Arch

I caught a lone hiker in the Arch just after the color of the sunset

faded. Although my my shots 10 minutes earlier show the bright

colors we all love about this classic shot, this is my favorite.

I think I would like to see this either as a complete sillouhette, or with some lightening of the midtones of the rock, not necessarily more saturated, just lighter.

a shot with potential and spice, but a different angle -not just in the eye level- would help to create some more interest here, and probably with a different light to avoid the current flat tonality.. i appreciate you decided to pass the pompus and touristic colours but this is a bit poor range of colour and tonality...

 

as concerns solitude, i'm not sure at all that this is what is communicated... having a figure in helps to give us a feeling of size and capture shortly the eye.. but apart this, the human's small size, and rather non-definable pose -in fact like plastic soldier, (together with the aforementioned elements of the composition) do not tell us much...
