Very expressive! The sky behind the tree adds tremendously to the picture. To me it looks like an old man sitting quitely alone in his room, thinking about his life wounds.

Is this a composite? I would say you used at least two different images to make this one - am I correct?

It's a shame that you added those clouds on the foreground...

 

A different reaction would have been from me if this was a real shot; I have anything against manipulation or composites, but in photography and for some particular images, one would expect the "real" thing captured in one shot. This is one of those cases. :-/

 

As a tree lover that I consider myself (see my own shots of them) I envy you for having found such an opportunity to photograph it. But probably you should go back and retry.

The tree itself is wonderful--great composition, incredible shape, and nice contrast. My eye keeps going to the sky and background though--it seems blurred and manipulated. Would love to see it with a better sky. cc

Tienes un subjeto increible. Asi como lo has hecho queda superbueno, pero me imagino que si encuentras otro dia con unas nubes discutiendo en el fondo esta foto sera verdaderamente mucha mas poderosa. saludos.
