The perspective of the buildings, and how not busy it is somehow makes it quite hauntingly peaceful. Like in some movies where it looks good, but deep down there is a dark secret. Hehe. I like how the cyclist is looking towards the camera.

Nice perspective

this is a beautifu integration on modern and vernacular architecture. it provides serenity to the scene. also notice the airplane trail arcing over the shot,....

First I have to say, I am happy there is someone noticing the airplane trail, because I myself liked it so much, as the line was so much the same, as the street line =) The plane was still flying when I took the picture.

 

I have been told from Denmark (your colleague) that you can find information from these buildings from Finish architecture periodical called 'Arkkitehti' (January 2003 issue). You had a good eye, these are the buildings of Oulu University, School of Architecture, wich was build after the 1. prize in a open design competition, in 2000. And last, but not least my daughter is studying there, too =)) Happy to see you here again =)
