This is an experiment using the painting with light technique. It was taken in darkness and the flower was gently 'brushed' with a flashlight with an optical fiber attachment to achieve the narrow light beam.

What do you think of the result?

I think it certainly looks great! I like the warm feeling that one gets from this pic. It's definitely creative too! Wished I could do something like that. Great job!

Finally, a flower pic that is more than just a pretty flower! Try it in Black and White. I think you'll get something with even more oomph.

I think it's a stunning success. Very well done, sir!

Did you modify the end of the flashlight?

Edward, Thanks for the suggestion on the B&W version. Actually some time ago I had a personal project on B&W macro; a hard project I found.

In this particular case, I find that the uneven light becomes more visible when you reduce the image to gray levels and the warm feeling is gone. What do you think?

Excellent. AND, thank you, now I can order some fishing gear for the approaching flounder season, too.

Stunning result Gerard. It's a glowing star! Nicely saturated with excellent dof and sharpness.
