this is one of my personal favourites however almost everyone who's

seen it dislikes it. is it because of the colors? the wide angle

distortion? is it a technical or aesthetic dislike?

The color is a bit much...I'd like to see the background toned down...it seems to be giving her an odd skin tone. I'm also not thrilled with looking up her nose. It is a unique looking portrait though...I'll give you that.

drop the nose a touch....

and I never amputate mid-leg..... bring it in to waist height.... or have something interesting w/her legs and make it a full-length shot

I agree the colour is too intensive and the leg looks like a pink stump. The nose for me is part of her expression ie she is turning her nose up to us.

The color overwhelms the "story" of the subject, and does impact the natural skin tones. I think it might better convey the subject in b/w, though thats my preference more often than not for people shots.

I rather like it, although it does look as if she's only got one leg.
