imaginator 0 Posted October 11, 2001 I like the composition, with plenty of water showing in the forground (helps give a sense of distance), and the overall "mood" of the image. Just curious, did you use a filter? Link to comment
sihirlitur.com 0 Posted October 11, 2001 Only Skylight filter. In autumn sunset is always like this. A fantastic city for photosafari. I am sure you can do better if you visit Istanbul or Turkey for more. Thanx for your thoughts and comment. Link to comment
philip_harle1 0 Posted October 11, 2001 You asked what I think - well I think the single word above pretty much sums it up. Definitely my kind of image - you'll probably see what I mean if you visit my portfolio or website - it's exactly the sort of image I'm trying for. I don't think I'm in a position to offer "constructive criticism" because I haven't really taken many shots (if any) which are any better than this, but I would say maybe if the subject boat had been a little further over to the right with more space to move into this may have improved the composition very slightly. Great work! Link to comment
bob_k 0 Posted October 11, 2001 Excellent shot...near perfect. The horizon was well placed to give the picture depth. Tiny nitpicks: would've like the boat just slightly off center on the right. Water and small waves towards the back could use sharper focus. Link to comment
jeff stumpo 0 Posted October 16, 2001 The shot is absolutely beautiful. Period. I love the composition, and the slightly out of focus minarettes in the background add an ethereal quality that keeps this from being just another silhouette of a boat shot. Top marks for composition! That being said, I have seen quite a few shots like this. They were not nearly as good as this, but nonetheless, I wanted to explain giving you an "average" rating for originality. Please take no offense, as I really do love the photo. Link to comment
