alfreds 0 Posted April 6, 2005 Hi Simon, The first view at the thumbnail was terrific. When viewing large the comosition, subject, lightening and the overall feel is still impressing, however I found the sides of the house, the road and space on the left and right a bit unrealistic. Still not sure if it is a computer manipulated image, but the path on the sides does not flow in a realistic way. The left side road does not flow in the same direction as the bottom line of the house. It is a bit distracting. Secondly, I think that more space should be left for the road at the bottom of the photo, thus it would enhance the diognal flow away from the house. Even if such placement would require a crop from the top - photo would be more impressive. Lowering the camera would also streighten the street light-post. I like this photo very much and it has that something 'out of ordinary' that attracts the viewer. The rest of your portfolio here is indeed impressive! Link to comment
dimitri_vee 0 Posted April 19, 2005 Interesting, ominous, brooding, disturbing.. even chilling !There are so many of Roland Barthes' "punctum"s ( or puncti ? ) that create an atmosphere of mystery that I simply can't take my eyes off it. A great image !!Although technically one could agree with a previous commenter about the crop from above, I feel that this would simply iron out all it's wacko-ness and turn it into yet another of the billions of dead "perfect" images. (..I'm not sure that a straight lamp-post ever did anything for the soul.. ! )Thanks for the experience.. your work is stunning !Dimitrios Link to comment
patricklove 0 Posted May 2, 2006 First of all, I'm happy to see a picture from Bulgaria. I suspected because of your name... Second, you picked an interesting subject. Maybe the light could be better, but it's good. Good framing as well. 6/6 Link to comment
