chris_conrad 0 Posted February 23, 2005 This is another negative from last year's (2004) "Freezing Fog" storm in the Four Corners region. I got caught-up with too many other things last spring and so I'm just now getting back to this film. Negative film, Hi-Res Scan (16-Bit). I print with Septone inks on a 2200. What do you think? janpeter 0 Posted February 23, 2005 I like how the sky contrasts to the snow in the tree. Link to comment
irusan 0 Posted February 23, 2005 Nice job metering the snow. Did you use infrared film? I would expect the sky to be darker if you had (almost black) but the contrast of the frost-covered limbs against the trunk is why I'm asking. Link to comment
chris_conrad 0 Posted February 23, 2005 Thanks for the comments--The Sky is white/gray because it is all Fog. Normally there would be an open valley with a steep 800' ridge in the background, but it is obscured by Fog.... A week of "freezing fog" (and little or no blue sky) resulted in all the vegetation being encased in Hoar Frost. cc Link to comment

WJT 627 Posted February 28, 2005 This is really nice Chris! Perfect conditions, if you ask me. I would have liked to see the little tree on the right be completely in the frame. Since that did not happen, perhaps removing it instead. I took the liberty of doing that with your photograph. If you find it objectionable, let me know and I will remove the posting. Regards.
