jennea 0 Posted February 22, 2005 I'm not a nature photographer in the least, but I was playing around with the camera on a shoot and ended up with this. What do you think? Link to comment
chris_saul 0 Posted February 22, 2005 This picture seems awfully grainy ... deliberate (why?) or a crop of a larger image? Link to comment
jennea 0 Posted February 22, 2005 I wondered about the graininess myself. This is the first time I've had the lab scan the negs rather than me scanning a 4x6 print. I used Portra 800, same as I routinely do, so that is the only reason I can come up with. Anyone else know why it might be grainy? Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted February 27, 2005 Jennea, sorry I haven't commented sooner. Wasn't feeling well, so didn't really get a chance to check things out lately. Glad to see you took the shots you mentioned to me. I'm not sure about the graininess. Did you crop this a lot? The 800 speed film doesn't crop and blow up very well without being grainy...I used to use 800 about 99% of the time, and after many suggestions from others, I'm buying up lots of different speeds to see what I get. Otherwise, the shot is nice. I think I could have liked to see a little more room on the bottom and a little less at the top to bring the one bunch more central vertically, but otherwise I really like it. Can't wait to see you try more! Let me know when you do. Leslie Link to comment
