Mostly looking for your views towards this picture. This is NOT a

digital manipulated picture. Setup was simple in contrast actually,

two studio flash heads, each fitted with a Blue filter, and a slide

projector loaded with a slide I took of the moon some time back. 1

synth (which I've never managed to play!), one female (the wife),

and a few minutes to kill. Camera was a Nikon FM2, with a Vivitar 70-

210mm lens set at f11 1/250sec. Studio Flash heads were diffused and

Blue filters added, 1 placed to the left and one placed over head

(just behind model). The "haze" was achieved by experiment, I have

an "ultra violet" light system, you know the type they use in

disco's etc, this seems to add the effect I was looking for, all in

all I was trying to achieve a "surreal" effect. Comment welcome.

Cool idea. Like the execution too. But is it me, or does the arm look elongated? It looks out of proportion. I am not suggesting anything, maybe a tighter crop would eliminate the long arm effect.

It is definitly creative and seems like it was fun to do. That arm is odd. Plus, the posture of the arm and hand are poor...I can imagine the piano teacher coming up and slapping her on the wrists. I would sit her up higher so that it's more like she's reaching down towards the keyboard rather than coming from below...that would help it look a bit more graceful. I think the moon is too low to be believable...it just looks cut and pasted. How about shooting (or cropping) vertical to place the moon up above and perhaps to show more of the woman? Just some ideas...as I said, it is creative...but doesn't work for me as is. Keep playing...it is nice to see some different types of images posted.

Instead of using a slide projector have you ever thought of double exposing the photo? takeing the picture of the girls arm on the piano in the studio and then go outside and take photo of the moon. you would just have to get the exposures set correct but it should be that hard. maybe you should give it a try and upload it so we can see what it looks like

I agree with the comments of Petar and Jill. Overall, I find the picture a bit creepy. Is that your goal?
