well, now, maybe you are adams! i like this very much. great tones, composition and subtle but interesting textures.

Nice tones and composition - the foreground leads the eye into the island/rock in the distance.

When I first saw this as a thumbnail, I thought the foreground was all water, and it was surprising how calm it seemed. When I realized it was sand it made more sense - sand is easily shaped by water, but less turbulent. I like this - it really gives a sense of sand, which is absorbant, calming, safe... zillions of tiny, old, worn down rocks.

I would only remove the reddish tones on the bright areas, simply make it sepia! Maybe!
