kevin_kolosky 2 Posted October 9, 2001 As I have said many many times in this forum, good sunset and sunrise photos come about because the photographer paid attention to put something of interest in the foreground to relieve the boredom felt by the severe backlighting. Here you did that and more. This is an excellent excellent photograph. Kevin Link to comment
lorraine 0 Posted October 9, 2001 Really beautiful photograph!!! Worth the effort of getting up that early. You did a wonderful job. Lorraine Foster Link to comment
imaginator 0 Posted October 9, 2001 I love it! Actually, almost too much contrast and color, but it does work well to make for a dramatic scene. I'll bet it was a wonderful experience in person too! Link to comment
lyndon 0 Posted October 9, 2001 I don't want to detract from what is a stunning image, but does anyone think that this would be an even stronger composition had the sun been in the left third of the frame? Like I say, I hate to denegrate this shot because I love it, but I'm interested in what others think. Link to comment
robert_kennedy 0 Posted October 10, 2001 I hate you! That is too good! Plus I can never get up that early! Keep up the good work.... Link to comment
bob_k 0 Posted October 10, 2001 Excellent! I like the way the tree frames the sun burst. My only nitpick is to lose the bush on the left and bottom left. It is unnecessay and detracts from the picture. Without them, the picture would take on even a more surreal quality -- like the tree is poking out of the clouds. Link to comment
harmonphotography 0 Posted October 13, 2001 I've never commented on a photo before, but this shot is so beautiful that I had to add my congratulations here. My first thought when I saw this image was that I'd love to see it made into a jigsaw puzzle. Link to comment
paul_frank 0 Posted October 24, 2001 This is truly an amazing photograph. Did you use a star filter or is that your lens? I like the way that sun looks - Excellent! Link to comment
jason c wu 0 Posted October 25, 2001 Amazing. I can't think of anything else to say. Amazing. Link to comment
kevin_newman 0 Posted November 1, 2001 Normally I think photographs of sunrises and sunsets are boring, especially those over the ocean or another large body of water where there is little else of interest, except maybe clouds. But this is an exceptionally nice photograph. Link to comment
AntonioC 8 Posted November 27, 2001 Simply wonderful. Both composition and colour balance. Great work! (maybe I would just crop the foliage on the extreme left, still it's beautiful as is) Link to comment
