jez 0 Posted January 25, 2005 Heavily cropped and Unsharped but otherwise unmanipulted. I left the over-blue tone to keep the crisp spring day feel (probably just in my mind, from remembering a great trip). Link to comment
paul_scott1 0 Posted January 26, 2005 The blue certainly works for me, but it's the combination of strong, exotic foreground shapes against hazy background that gives the image real power. Manipulation beyond unsharp and changes made at time of scan (if you scan) tends to give the image a false feel (in my opinion). Link to comment

Alex_Es 388 Posted February 18, 2005 This is definately a good shot. The panoramic rendering is exactly right. I do wish to remind viewers of the millions of photographs of gondolas that are as good or better than this. Like it or not, this is a fact of life a photographer has to face when photographing popular tourist attractions. Mt Fuji, San Francisco cable cars, the Statue of Liberty and the like have been so much photographed that one is better off buying a photo book or a post card. The shots I highly value in this series are those of out of the way places in Venice. I am talking about the places tourist generally don't visit or photograph. It is also the part of Venice where you can go and more or less blend in. Last time I was in Venice I found a koesher restaurant in the working class section. Link to comment
