winstonli 0 Posted January 19, 2005 I am new to this community. My first manipulated polaroid image, your input is greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking. Link to comment
claire_f 0 Posted January 19, 2005 i REALLY like it. i'm not sure what else to say. it's nice that that focus isn't EXACTLY on centre. i'd leave it that way. Link to comment
manel_soria 0 Posted January 19, 2005 I like it too, but I can not honestly rate it, could you please comment something on the technique used ? Thanks. Link to comment
winstonli 0 Posted January 19, 2005 Hi, Manel, thanks for your comments. I shoot the image on slide, and than transfered it to Polaroid Time Zero film using an enlarger, with enhanced yellow and magenta fiilters. I than manipulated the image with hand and than shoot with my Nikon D70 into digital file. Minor adjustment in PS to this iamge. Thanks. Link to comment
manel_soria 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Waw, that sounds really complex. Just to check if I understand, the polaroid here is like a positive paper ? They you manually, somehow, created this effect of waves directly on the polaroid. I think I remeber I saw a TV report about how polaroids are used to "paint" (so to speak) the photos. Is this ? Its a really nice image. Thanks and regards. Link to comment
winstonli 0 Posted January 20, 2005 Hi, Manel, the polaroid film I used is called Time-zero and it's image can be altered after shooting. Check with polaroid web site you can find more information on this. The TV information you refered sounds right to me. Thanks and regards. Link to comment
roman elinson 0 Posted January 31, 2005 Very nice Winston, I love the colours. In response to your critique of my 'Fifth Avenue', it's not manipulated - that's just the way it turned out. But what's SX-70? Link to comment
winstonli 0 Posted January 31, 2005 Thanks Roman, I replied under your photo "Fifth Ave.". Rgds. Link to comment
roman elinson 0 Posted February 1, 2005 Hi Winston. Thanks for enlightening me about SX-70. In response to your comment about the building shots, I just wait for some good light and use a Tiffen circular polarizer to take away glare and bring out the colours. Not very sophisticated. Link to comment
