Trying to capture the essence of the deco/streamlined era. Wasn't

allowed lighting or a tripod...tried for something, well not sure

what. Suggestions for cropping?

This is a 1938 Hispano-Suiza H6B Dubonnet Xenia Saoutchik Coupe

Chasis #103 commissioned by Andre Dubonnet to his company?s latest

suspension development. Aerodynamics expert Jean Andreau created a

streamlined styling, which was heavily influenced by aviation

design. The interior resembles the cockpit of an airplane. Built on

a Hispano-Suiza H6B chassis it is equipped with unusual parallel

opening doors for added distinction.

not sure I would crop this one down. Did you take any others along with the three you currently have up? You did shoot from the front- didnt you?

I don't think I'd crop it. I tried cropping the upper portion down close to the roof (leaving about the same amount of open space as there is in front of the car). I liked that the car wasn't centered anymore, but didn't like the proportions of the photo--too long and narrow. I think it's tough to do much cropping here--you're not really close enough to the car for a detail shot of just one section, and if you're going to show the whole car, you're kind of stuck with these proportions. That said, I think it's great the way it stands--very eye-catching. The toning is fantastic too. It really suits the subject perfectly. Thanks.

I dont know what Aaron thinks about this but I like the idea you presented. You were definitely thinking outside the box I was sitting in.

I do like Jeremy's idea, the only drawback I see is that it emphasizes the ropes around the car. I?m half tempted to PhotoShop them out! Perhaps that idea would work well in 3 different frames (in the physical world). Thanks for the contribution!
