jay_patel 0 Posted January 17, 2005 After being overcast all day, the sun was just trying to break up over the Zion National Park. On my way back from Checkered Mesa area, I spotted this magical lighting on the Mountains upon emerging from the tunnel. As the sun went down over the horizon, along with the cooler air, the clouds started to decent into the valley creating magnificent streaks of lighting setting the red mountains of the Zion National Park aglow! jay_patel 0 Posted January 17, 2005 It is a combination of luck and effort...You make the effort and drive down to Zion in bad weather and pray that you are lucky!! More shots like these can be seen at Timecatcher Website. Link to comment

davidroossien 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Beautiful photo. I like the way the clouds in the upper left draw you toward the tip. Link to comment
dragonfly606 0 Posted January 17, 2005 I'm sure that was a GREAT sight to see straight out from the tunnel. I am going again in April. Hope to get a view as great as this one! Link to comment
shileshjani 0 Posted January 17, 2005 Jay, good comment. Look at my new upload of Ship Rock (in my color folder). I drove like crazy to find this vantage point, knowing that the clouds would part in the West. Considering I had been on the road for 12 hours makes the shot even more appealing to me. But, I still prefer the b/w shot I took a few minutes later. Link to comment
