marian_vejcik 0 Posted January 13, 2005 I have picked up an old photo, which is dear to me. I took it at a cottage with some alcohol in my veins. That girl is called Adriana. We tried to tune the machine to listen to radio Luxembourg. Well, of course - I didn't tell her, that this radio ceased to broadcast long ago, so we tuned, tuned and tuned... Two candles were used as the source of light. I also used tripod. Exposure time 2 sec. Well, as Radio Luxembourg is concerned, I tried to revoke the atmosphere of that old time by saturation. Thanks for comments. Link to comment

john falkenstine 1 Posted January 15, 2005 I remember once upon a time..when Radio Luxembourg was the ONLY station in Europe that had commercials, broadcast in different languages and had popular music at night... Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted January 17, 2005 This is a very interesting photo. I too have difficulty believing it is only lit by 2 candles especially with a 2 second exposure. Very moody picture though! Well done! Link to comment

john falkenstine 1 Posted April 15, 2007 A friend of mine loves old radios. For a wedding anniversary he came home and to his surprise his wife had a gift for him. A huge 1960's Grundig console radio with record player and drawer socket for a tape recorder. Where she found this huge fully functional device in Tucson Arizona is a mystery to me. Link to comment
sv solomon photography 0 Posted October 5, 2007 My first thought when I viewed this image was how it took me back to when life was what seemed, at the time, much simpler. The colors are warm and vibrant. The lighting is beautiful! I love the texture of the frayed waistband of the jeans and the worn wood of the table. How did you keep the model still for 2 minutes?? The juxtaposition of the youthful figure and corresponding fashion next to the antique radio is wonderful. My own 18 year old son loves classic rock and roll. I can really relate to this. I love details like this, that only a photographer would notice and appreciate, and leaves me wondering what the rest of the model and the room might have looked like. This photo has fantastic movement through-out causing the eye to travel from the model's presence to the radio and back over and over and over again. Thanks for posting this and keep your photographic candle burning!!!!!!! Steve Link to comment

jamescredland 0 Posted August 23, 2008 This is fabulous. It's such a work of graphics with a hint of nostagia and sex at the same time. All horizontal bands and two little circles. And the colour! Bloody brilliant :) Link to comment
