Welcome to comment and critique pictures taken on my recent trip to

an old small water town/village in southeast China. Thanks.

I visited this small town between Hangchow and Shanghai four years ago. It is beautiful, as are most of the small towns in China. I have really enjoyed looking through your portfolio... I have afew photos of Xitang in my portfolio.....I must go back to China, - a fascinating country.

Nice image. Such an interesting place. Too bad I cannot see it all at once and keep scrolling up and down. I would like to see a little bit more detail in the lower right corner.

Thanks for your comments. I was debating if I should process that part (selectively increase level or brightness) to make the yellow flowers more visible, but, would that take away the center of attention and become distractive? what do you think?

Jason,

You did a great job capturing the lovely scene here. I especially love the tone. The only pick is, like you mentioned, the followers in the right bottom corner is absolutely a distraction. Sometimes if you want the most in the frame you will get the least. Also the white reflection in the left bottom corner should be reduced or avoided since it is kinda harsh and unfitted in the overall subtle colors. Still an awesome pic and I would like to see more from the trip and know about the place (like which province is Xi Tang in?)

I did some cropping for you with apologies:

Geo, thanks for your thoughtful comments. You confirmed my suspicion that the yellow flowers are a distraction.

Xi Tang is in the Zhe Jiang province. It is only an hour train ride from Shanghai. I also made a presentation of the trip if you are interested.
