amills 0 Posted January 4, 2005 This is a darkroom print that i did for a class assignment. It started qute a debate. What do you all think of it, or what the meaning is? Adam Link to comment
bruce b 0 Posted January 4, 2005 I'm new to this site and was just cruising around out of curiosity, not intending to actually leave any critiques, but this one stopped me in my tracks. At first blush, it appears to be rather misogynistic, and I imagine you might have gotten "beaten around the head" for that, but the ephemeral nature of the images on the wall suggest a much more mischievous intent. It certainly makes one think - about one's own attitudes toward women in general, and attractive women in specific. And it causes one to speculate about the photographer's attitudes on these subjects as well. Heck, maybe you are commenting on the state of glamour photography, head shots, and modeling too? It also makes me wonder... how did he do that?? And on that tangent...is wet darkroom trickery inherently "better" than digital darkroom trickery? A compelling photo, to be sure. Link to comment
