candids Innocence

I am torn between trying to make portraits sharp and crisp to view

versus going for a softer look while still keeping everything in

focus.

 

This is a low-res scan of an actual printed photo.

I realize the background leaves a lot to be desired from a portrait point of view. This was a candid photo of my not-yet-two-year-old son. At his age he doesn't stand still for long... I get my photos as I can!

Exposure is perfect in this photo. Maybe a tighter crop concentrating on your son's body and not his surroundings might help. Hope he gives you time for more photos in the future! Best Regards, JS.

I notice the title of your photo...it must be a proud daddy thing hahaha. Great photo, regardless of the background, your son keeps the focus of attention. I can also appreciate the photo as you say, two year olds are hard to capture when they are not sleeping.
