klimax 0 Posted December 13, 2004 Beautiful colours, lovely lighting on the sheep. I like the juxtaposition of the tree. Link to comment
mn 0 Posted December 13, 2004 The picture is beautiful.. would have prefered a little more foreground. Link to comment
robidooo 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Nice colors and moods. However, it feels a little strange as the sheep's are showing us their back. I'm really not sure about what to think about it. Where are they going? Is this tree has something special or is it something behind? I like a photo that makes me think a little and make me feel something. This one leaves me a little cold on this as I find I'm missing some reference to what is happening. Aesthetically it is good but and originality is fine, but there is a little something missing. Would not be able to tell you what however. Link to comment
romeyer.jp 0 Posted December 14, 2004 Thanks for your comments, PN friends Stephane, I quite understand your strange feeling with this picture...precisely, I wanted it to be strange, nothing obvious, create an atmosphere open for imagination...the dead tree behind in the fog is supporting this mood and the male sheeps are looking around as if they were anxious to see something jumping out...not just stupid sheeps eating grass...! have fun! Came to your site because of the pink flamingo photo, but this one caught my eye. The responses conflict with my own (except for Yann's). I don't presume to understand the mind of a sheep, but I suspect they find fog as mysterious as we do. That's all the story I need. The photo is fascinatingly simple: Three planes (plants, sheep, tree) with only the middle plane clear. Frankly, this is the only photo of sheep I ever found interesting. Link to comment
brandonhamilton 0 Posted September 23, 2005 Stephane Robichaud, what you described is exactly what a photo like this is SUPPOSED to do. It's not supposed to be obvious.. there doesn't HAVE to have an obvious context around what you are seeing... The very fact that this photo made you ask those questions is a testiment to how this photo is such a grand success. 7s, for sure. Link to comment
carl_huelgas 0 Posted January 17, 2006 Great composition! I guess the name "the encounter" should point to something scary. Well it really does. The dark tree in the fog adds something unknown and maybe evil ;) Great atmosphere. Congrats Carl Link to comment
