Great shotm caught the action and I like the spinning trick.

The subjects and their expressions are very nice. Blurring the background wasn't a bad idea, but the spinning effect distracts you from the subjects. If you're going to go for something clearly digitally altered, you might consider just slightly blurring the background and then fading it to almost white. That would make this into a more abstract work and it would really make the great pose and expression of the subjects stand out, since they're clearly the focal point.

Usually such a spinning background would look stupid but is not too bad here.
The strong emotions and 'pose' being shown by the dancers helps offset it.
Notice i said 'emotions' and not 'expresions'-that part is VERY well captured!

I just tried my suggestion, fading out the background, and it's no good. The context for the dancers is what gives the dancers expressions emotion. It's much more powerful to see these people having so much fun with all their friends and family around, than it is to think of the two as dancers in a studio somewhere.

 

The faces are wonderful. Very pleasant picture. Go on the good work!!!!

A little strange at the holding hands, why so shining?

A great picture of dancers: Great pose, great expressions, great exposure.

 

However, the background ruins it for me. Depth of field and/or contrast alone would seperate the dancers... The photoshopping is just over the top for my taste.
