Guest Guest Posted December 10, 2004 Nice photo. Not a big fan od digital work but this is great. The lady in the background with the shades in a bit distracting. Great tone. Link to comment

cape1232 0 Posted December 11, 2004 The subjects and their expressions are very nice. Blurring the background wasn't a bad idea, but the spinning effect distracts you from the subjects. If you're going to go for something clearly digitally altered, you might consider just slightly blurring the background and then fading it to almost white. That would make this into a more abstract work and it would really make the great pose and expression of the subjects stand out, since they're clearly the focal point. Link to comment
ron c sunshine coast, qld,a 0 Posted December 12, 2004 Usually such a spinning background would look stupid but is not too bad here. The strong emotions and 'pose' being shown by the dancers helps offset it.Notice i said 'emotions' and not 'expresions'-that part is VERY well captured! Link to comment
cape1232 0 Posted December 12, 2004 I just tried my suggestion, fading out the background, and it's no good. The context for the dancers is what gives the dancers expressions emotion. It's much more powerful to see these people having so much fun with all their friends and family around, than it is to think of the two as dancers in a studio somewhere. Link to comment

peng_xie 0 Posted January 3, 2005 Exciting. A little strange at the holding hands, why so shining? Link to comment
darrenmambo 0 Posted March 9, 2005 A great picture of dancers: Great pose, great expressions, great exposure. However, the background ruins it for me. Depth of field and/or contrast alone would seperate the dancers... The photoshopping is just over the top for my taste. Link to comment
