frans_hartman 0 Posted December 10, 2004 I have put this picture in fashion since there is not any other in which I could put this one. Hope to hear from all of you and thanks on beforehand Link to comment
matt_sherman 0 Posted December 10, 2004 I think the colors need to be warmer. It is a great idea, but maybe some external lighting to light up the subject and dim the background. Link to comment
davidmccracken 2 Posted December 10, 2004 It is a good idea but the model looks too tense. Link to comment
roberto_garcia1 0 Posted December 11, 2004 Nice pic. I am however distracted by that flower thing on the strap. I don't know why I am drawn to it, but it distracts from the clean lines of the dress and model. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted December 12, 2004 Obviously, the lady and the dress are amazingly beautifull. But after that I find the phot beautiful as well. First I thought it is too symmetric, too central, but after a while of thinking I see that it is pretty much spot on bacause the red is so so dominant here. I might crop it a little from all the edges, but in general very good. Link to comment
seven 0 Posted December 12, 2004 I like the contrast between the passion evoked by the soft red and the decay of the hard bricks and mortar. I would crop closer to the model. I would perhaps burn down the fg bricks, and use 'curves' (or similar) to take the emphasis off the bg. At the very least I'd think of applying a multiply layer across everything but the model - around 15-20%; I'm sure that would improve the exposure by warming the brighter areas. Very nice idea. roy_zoellner 0 Posted December 12, 2004 Nice composition. At first I was reminded of Miss Sarajevo. If you're not familiar it was a documtary by Bill Carter made famous by U2. The documentary was about the resilience of the Sarajevo people who held a beauty pageant while under siege. Cropping was mentioned, but I think I would take the opposite route. Depending on what you want to communicate, if it were I, I would open up the image and show more destruction. Cropping it would be the same old picture of a beautiful woman in a gorgeous dress. Opening the image and showing more destruction evokes a feeling that something beautiful can come from rubble. Just my 2? Link to comment
eden a. 0 Posted December 17, 2004 Like the shot for the most part, but I agree with the previous poster with regard to the model looking tense. My approach to essentially the same pose: Model looking slightly down/toward my right. I'd also pay attention to softening her rt. hand/arm - relaxing the wrist/hand. Link to comment
hugo_paez 0 Posted December 22, 2004 I think this one is great, she looks totally relaxed to me . Comp is great too. Link to comment

frans_hartman 0 Posted January 2, 2005 thanks you for all your comments. I think, with all respect to the others, that the critique to show more destruction is the right one. I will use that in my new pictures for sure.anyway, thanks to you all, happy new year! Frans Link to comment
