chris_schultz2 0 Posted December 8, 2004 The scene was lit only by the street lights beyond the cemetery. Your thoughts are welcome, and even invited. Link to comment
rickbehl 0 Posted January 3, 2005 I like this photo although I'm not sure the tree in the foreground is in the best position. Was there any other angle which maybe would have framed the headstones more aesthetically ? Link to comment
chris_schultz2 0 Posted January 7, 2005 The angles were fairly limited. I wanted the streetlight behind the obelisk, because otherwise it was just a washed-out, glaring distraction. I also took some that were zoomed in (I used the short end of a 70-200mm for this one), but I thought the most interesting was this one, where the wood gave a little relief from all the stone and iron. I haven't run the others through the digital darkroom yet. I just got the 8x10 print of this today, and might go try to sell a framed print to the funeral director who is responsible for many of those monuments! Link to comment
rickbehl 0 Posted January 8, 2005 I'd be interested to see if they're were any other interesting shots in your set and also whether you were successful in selling the shot. Good luck ! Link to comment
jimmoi_85 0 Posted January 12, 2005 Ooh. This one is creepy. It is a bit of a shame about that tree, I think. Anyway, you probably couldn't have done much, except cutting it down. I don't think I would feel comfortable cuttting down a tree in a graveyard so I'd suggest you leave it as it is. Interesting photo. Well done. Link to comment
jim_trombley 0 Posted January 12, 2005 Several have commented on how they would like to see the tree not in the image but I have to disagree with them. What dark, damp, and eerie image of a graveyard would be complete without a leafless (appearing lifeless) tree in it? Link to comment
mkowalski 0 Posted January 15, 2005 I love the way you used the lighting and the crosses are a bonus. There weren't very many crosses in the cemetary I took my image at. Very good job! Mark Kowalski Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted January 16, 2005 Chris, I too think the tree adds certain creepy atmosphere to it. Like the color tones and the blocked street light (?) behind the high tomb. Link to comment
