forrest_andrew 0 Posted November 23, 2004 As the story goes a pot of gold lies at the end of every rainbow, well at the end of the Inca Trail lies the beautiful sight of Machu Picchu. Photographed a million times, it is still a sight I was glad to see with my own eyes (and camera). So what do you think?? Link to comment
suresh_jois1 0 Posted November 23, 2004 MP is extraordinarily magical.. but the wisp of cloud is a tad too over exposed, looks almost artificial.. Link to comment
derek_prinsloo 0 Posted November 24, 2004 Wow, fantastic. My wife and I are hoping to visit MP in the near future. A pity you couldn't catch it without the tourists, but I imagine that's next to impossible (and they're not really that distracting anyway - only the pink shorts/bag is eye catching). Nice light & shadows. How early did you have to get up to catch this? Link to comment
gavinberg 0 Posted November 26, 2004 I think this photo is GANGBUSTERS!! i agree that it is too bad that the pink is in the corner, but i am glad you did not take out the foreground in the shot. I think the lighting at the bottom of MP is unreal...kinda makes the details just fade away and disappear in to the darkness. About the could being overexposed?? Poppycock! I dont think it is overexposed at all, but rather is just more in the rays of the sun than the rest of the scene. I don't know if you had your neutral density filter with you, but i think that it could have been used on the sky portion of your picture. Darken the sky a little and keep the rest of the scene exactly the same (with out little miss pink in the left) and you have yourself a photo that deserves the cover of NatGeo. I wonder what a fisheye lens would do for this picture....hmmm. Link to comment
atacama02 0 Posted November 26, 2004 Andrew Great picture of an archaeologically and aesthetically incredible (and constantly photographed) site! I think you did well to get as few people in the shot as you did-you got there at sunrise before the bus/train loads of people arrived I take it! The clouds really capture something of the mystique of the place, they just seem to linger over the site don't they? Congrats, Andrew. Link to comment

marcadamus 1 Posted March 7, 2005 One of the very best of what must be thousands of photos taken from this amazing perspective. The cloud is perfect! I don't think it is unreasonable overexposed. The only complaint is those darn tourists, that don't exactly blend in either. But what can you do! This is about as good as it gets, world class image even with a bit of pink. Link to comment

Guest Posted November 24, 2005 I like it very much, but If I can say something (I'm not even a beginner...) I could prefer it cutting a little the left area, just to eliminate this pink dressed tourist, without people on it, is a perfect photo. But as I told before, I'm not the most apropiate person to critique a photographer like you, so excuse me if my comment annoy you. Congratulations Link to comment
whinterberger 0 Posted July 14, 2006 The cloud is just perfect , IMO , it makes it a very original shot, if that is at all possible with this subject ! The tourists , well , they are part of it , these days. No use pretending otherwise. Well done. Link to comment
