It's off balance, the shadows lack detail, you have conflicting subjects (caption vs. your first comment), too much non-interesting dead space and where the hell are all the naked ladies? Obviously I make joke. All that technicality jargon is bullshit and the rules need to be thrown away (with select photos), as you've succeded in doing with this image. I'd like to tell you how it makes me feel but I fear inducing boredom. I can hear what it sounds like to be alone on the tracks and can smell/feel the fog in my nose. I would like to know how your other compositions with this scene turned out, I know you made more pictures here...I excel at starting sentences with I.

Yeah, I did something different with this photo as opposed to most of my others. Usually, I increase the contrast by quite a bit so that they're not so flat. However, the fog and the dim lighting seemed to capture a little of the deep south where I currently reside. Can you see the Kudzu climbing some of the enbankment? It reminds me of a Flannery O Connor short where that guy kills the family in the woods (its been a long time since undergrad). Im a little suprised that people didnt like it...but whatever...thats not what this is all about. My skin had gotten alot harder since my first 1/1. I included this other photo in the same series ... you can see why i didnt publish. Its very boring. On an aside, some of your photography really reminds me of a group in Scotland - Boards of Canada. If you have the inclination try and pick up one of their albums - Music Has the Right to Children. You're an electronic artist so you might dig it...its of the IDM genre. Very smooth and environmental yet with some captivating beats.

Thanks for the music tip, I'm always down for new music especially recently, it's been hard to find stuff that catches my ear. This isn't a music site but I'll continue anyway...I'm reading "Our Band Could be Your Life" by Michael Azerrad at the moment and it's taking me back to my skate punk high school days by reflecting on Sonic Youth, Fugazi, Minor Threat and Black Flag, among others. Even if it's not your cup of tea I suggest checking out the book, it's interesting. I recently picked up Kasabian whilst drinking, smoking and picture making in Seattle and have grown quite fond of them. Processed Beats is a good song. I could rant for hours but who's listening? Great picture and nice Kudzu.
