jayme 0 Posted November 17, 2004 Wow- very nice DOF & detail on this one. You are mastering this new lens well. Link to comment
armindo_lopes 1 Posted November 17, 2004 Very nice, sharp and very well composed. The bird stands out very well from the background. Link to comment

erikadams 0 Posted November 18, 2004 Very well done, Howard. I like the slant of the piling he's standing on, the detail, and the background. Link to comment
gabriella_lucia 0 Posted November 19, 2004 I have been eyeing this lens, this photo screams buy me. What were your settings on this shot if you don't mind? Link to comment

gabriella_lucia 0 Posted November 19, 2004 Thanks Howard, that's what I was hoping for. This lens executes well on the long end. I am considering this or the Signa 50-500. I have had luck with Tamron so that's where I am leaning. Now I must figure out why I should spend another $900.00 for a lens. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted November 20, 2004 Howard, I like the shallow DOF, composition, and the colors. Hmmmm....you guys, that 200-500 sure sounds very attractive, but hate to think about an 86mm filter size. I guess you just leave it naked and do any filtration in PS? Looks nice and clean at ISO400, BTW. ^_^ Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted November 20, 2004 Very nice, Howard. The lighting is very pleasing and having the bird to the far right works well. That does it - I'm now going to start getting into portrait character shots and compete with YOU! :) Link to comment
r_e 0 Posted November 21, 2004 CR: All is sloping - so we dont get a "dead space" on the left but we feel with the effort of the bird against the elements ... RE Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted November 28, 2004 I'd have to say the same as the previous comment ... a bit bright for my taste ... but I tend to love deep saturated colors. (Didja know that?) :-D Link to comment
