jimg 0 Posted November 9, 2004 I like the colored lighting. There are a few things that I think would make this image stronger. The top and bottom, based on the dark shadows at the top of each, give a sense of perspective that are not consistent across the entire image. Each green and violet look to slope back on the left side. Perhaps that is exaggerated from how the jellyfish are positioned. Also each of the 3 jellyfish are on the left side of the image and I think this makes the presentation a bit imbalanced. Lastly saving out a higher quality JPEG would reduce the gradiation banding that is visible in each of the colored pictures. Aside from those areas of improvement I think this is a very creative and successful image. Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted November 10, 2004 I did want to add, that the jellies are in a clear ring type tank. In the tank, there is a light that changes color. Evertime the jellies pass the light, they pick up the color. It is an amazing display. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted February 3, 2005 I would so love to see a bigger version of this. The illusion of depth stopped me in my tracks. How'd you do the colours? Link to comment
rascal64 9 Posted February 3, 2005 I am not sure what you mean, by "illusion of depth". These are 3 separate unmanipulated photos. The lights in their tank change color...so everytime the light changed and a jelly passed by, I snapped a shot. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 3, 2005 Wrong wording. When I look at this, it's like I can reach right in and touch one (not that I'd want to). The images are rich and full of depth and contrast. Link to comment
