liuyuan 0 Posted November 8, 2004 Well done! Congrats! So a telephoto can also do the macro trick? I've been wondering about the difference, any idea? More details and sharpness with a macro lens? Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted November 8, 2004 Umair, thanks for the comments and I also think the title is very appropriate for the action. Yuan, you can definitely use telephoto lens for macro shots. Especially for damseflies and dragonflies because they are very alert and it will be difficult to get really close to them. In this shot I also use a 1.4X converter. I think you have very good macro works especially the waterdrop, what a good timing!! Keep on the good works! Link to comment
wei_xu 0 Posted November 9, 2004 7/6 Good catch, Jerry. I never had such sharp image with 75-300 mm lens + 2X converter with film. It seems I should get a digital SLR. What ISO speed did you set? Link to comment
jerry ting 1 Posted November 9, 2004 Wei, the camera I use for this photo is a D2H which is only 4.1 mp (ISO at 200) so you can notice the extra grains. I believe with a sturdy tripod you can achieve the sharpness you want. I will recommend you to invest money on lenses first. Link to comment
