Guest Guest Posted November 4, 2004 No long necked red birds here??? ... Is it Yuri??? Wonderful portrait. Lovely model and nice composition. I am not sure about the effect. Seems a little hard for such a soft face. White cloth on the head is a little bright and tends to take the eyes out of the frame. Otherwise a perfect portrait.... . Regards. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted November 5, 2004 Yuri its a great portrait. The eyes are beautiful, the pose and message are well transmitted. In my view a completly great shot was ruined in ps here. Whatever the ps effect used and the gobs of contrast, gives the impression of severe acne or just bad diet. The hair flow/placement is real good too but it also works to your disadvantage. Theres a white "thingie" on her nostril division that gives the appearence of a runny nose...it draws the eye right and coupled with the hair, to me anyway, visualy deforms the nose. (her) left side nose lobe?..looks way different from the right. Maybe people just don't see this cause the eyes are so good they draw you there, or look deeply enough....the background is horrid..noisy and out of synch with her expression. The dark rings under her eyes seem amplified by this dark level you've chosen. If only you would speak and say what you are trying to portray...unheathy/abused women? Thats what i see and it says that very well but the high contrast tradeoff is an premature drop off on (her) left side. If you look at this area in context of the whole pic it gives the face an almost horror like effect. Maybe step away from the bump button and lower the contrast may allieviate almost all of these mentioned probs, but seems to leave you with an bit above average shot of a girl with not so great skin. So "as posted"...3/4 Link to comment

erikadams 0 Posted November 5, 2004 When I first saw it I thought, "wow, look at the pores on her skin!" Then I saw the background to the left and realized this was a PS effect. I think I'd prefer the photo with some other effect, or just smooth skin. Her expression is beautiful, and the portrait is put together so nicely that I think it's worth experimenting with a little more. Link to comment
