tommy_connell2 0 Posted February 3, 2002 Hi, being a professional photographer, and an amateur astronomer, I can tell you this image is super. In your large view, one can see the granularity of the vast areas of the sun, not to mention the sharpness of the actual sunspots. I don't know what kind of solar filter you used, but in my sunspot photography, I use the Baader Solar Film. One of my Eclipse images of last Christmas was used on the NASA site. I use a Meade LX-200 8" and mostly either a CCD, or an old Nikon Photomic T that I have adapted to use through our flip mirror system. Did you use your D30 through an Astro Physics? I plan on doing some imaging with my new D30 as soon as my electrical shutter release comes in. Take care, and again, great image. Tommy Connell, M.Photog.Cr.Connell Studios Link to comment
andy10 0 Posted March 7, 2003 Hi Mike.. I had witnessed this activity too but had no way to capture it on my film as I dont have the right equipment. The picture is great and the closup to those sun-spots is beyond description.. Wonderful picture.. Link to comment
mclemens1969 0 Posted April 7, 2003 Thank you Tommy and Anoop. Tommy, I did use the D30 through an Astro-Physics barlow, but the scope was a TMB100/8 for this image. Link to comment
