henri_lefraiseur 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Is it purposely that you cut the arm ?, if you just let a few blck on th right, my eye won't be disturbed as it is now. Very nice shoot anyway, just too like a bra-add to be original. 6-5 Link to comment
delp 0 Posted October 29, 2004 A very good lighting in this picture. The model's pose is quite natural ... but why did you cut her elbow ? Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted October 29, 2004 I cut out her elbow because I'm dumb (ok, maybe not dumb but impatient) and sometimes dont use a tripod. I've been taught to crop in the camera and I got a little too close and cut into her arm, there are tons of other "good" photos with her elbow in but I love the hands in this image so much that I had to post it. Thanks for your comments. Link to comment

hector brandan 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Very Good picture, well done David ,congratulations!!! Link to comment
delp 0 Posted October 29, 2004 One must not be dumb to create such a picture, don't be too hard on yourself ... ;-) (By the way, the picture is beautiful as is, I wonder if the cut was intentional or not ... could have been an effect on purpose) ... Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted October 29, 2004 Its funny, I never really thought about it but if you look at alot of my work, I do crop into the arms quite a bit. I guess it is just a subconsious style? I do know that I like my models to look "cramped" like there isn't enough paper to fit them on, but at the same time I LOVE a ton of negative space. Who knows, I just do what I think looks best to me. Link to comment
stephen_miller5 0 Posted October 30, 2004 The dangling hair makes this photo appear cluttered. Overall the pose, clothing and hair gives this a sloppy appearance. Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted October 30, 2004 Stephen thanks for the critique, I respect your opinion however I disagree with you about the sloppy appearance. I may respect your opinion more if I could see some of your work. Thanks Link to comment
wim.ipenburg 0 Posted October 30, 2004 I love this shot, special the half hidden face of this nice model! The light from the right add's a lot on the body. Good B&W tones, great work. Link to comment
d2f 0 Posted October 31, 2004 you have to ask yourself one question, is this the best I can do? Nudes are quickly becoming null and void, lacking orignality and imagination. Push yourself to break the mold and come up with something original. Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted November 1, 2004 Don, this is my first "nude" shoot so I really just wanted to get a good shot, not re-invent the wheel. Link to comment
delp 0 Posted November 2, 2004 You should check Don's previous comments too ... it seems he is leading a crusade against nudity. Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted November 3, 2004 Thanks Lionel, don't you just love those "crusaders." Oh well, I guess everyone thinks they are an expert;) Link to comment
edlera 0 Posted January 30, 2005 David, this is a very sensual image, I like it a lot! Unlike from the other comments, I think the cut elbow is not a problem and it does not influence the atmosphere of this picture. 6/6 Link to comment
delp 0 Posted January 30, 2005 Hi David, I been off a while. Sure, I do love them ... but not on my path. Over-reacting is never a positive approach to me. BTW, I still like your image very much, and although you do not seem to consider yourself as an expert, I have noted a few details that make me think you did plan this image a little. Backlit, front soften light ... everything is technically perfect. I mean also the black-empty space ! I hope I could do as good. Cheers- Link to comment
david bohn 0 Posted January 31, 2005 No matter how much I like one of my images I can always find somthing that I could have improved on, I guess that is just the way it goes. I have confidence in my abilitys as a photographer, I'm just not much of a business man and I hate tooting my own horn. IE: I would never submit anything under "Fine Art" I feel that it is not for me to decide if my work is Fine Art or not, that is for the viewer to decide. Plus, a lot of what I do is commercial and anyone who tries to tell you that commercial photography/ Fashion photography is art needs to get their head examined. Link to comment
d_price 0 Posted February 6, 2005 I like this shot, Congrats, I'd be proud of it. It does seem like you have a love affair with cropping. You may have developed a style! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work. Link to comment
