Would love to know what you think. I'm thinking of using this for

advertising for senior portraits. Please share your thoughts. I

really want to get better.

I like the photo, and it's a nice look, but I would think you need to have a shot like this of an older person to use for advertising senior photos.

Unusual composition but I think you've managed to pull it off. Far more original than one portrait in particular which is currently on the TRP (ah, the power of mate-rating); in fact, I wouldn't pay much attention to the ratings you've been getting on this so far.

The thing which attracted me most (and which I think will most aid you in your objective with this photo) was your model's expression, particularly her eyes, which speak volumes.

BTW, I think Jeremy mistook your meaning as to which "seniors" you are appealing to.

Seniors are 17-18, Jeremy. :-)

What I like is the sideways glance accomplished by having the head facing sideways, then only the eyes look at the camera.

Your idea?

Thank you so much, those of you who have taken time to comment. I wasn't sure what Jeremy meant by his comment, but now I do! I agree, he didn't realize I meant graduating seniors from high school! LOL! An easy mistake . . . thanks for catching that guys! I'm so glad you liked it. I really loved the expression in her eyes as well. I had taken a couple of shots of her looking out a window and told her to just turn her eyes to me, and this is what we got. I'll have to post the one of her looking out the window too. I'm so pleased that you all liked it. Thanks for the great feedback!

pretty good portrait, not sure if I like the colour tone you've chosen though... moving your camera slightly to the left hence including part of her right shoulder would probably make a more balanced photograph - additionally she looks slightly tense due which is probably due to her pose (doesn't look like a 100% comfortable position)

I think the contrast is very good and contributes to the softness of this photograph

You guys are absolutely right! Since I have become a card-carrying (AARP) senior, I'm afraid that I have more or less forgotten about the high school variety of senior. My apologies to the photographer for my comment above, and I think it is a very fine photograph and very appealing. Shots like this should sell and be received very well.
