Please let me know what you think. This is the 1st time I've had a

go at capturing F1. But I must say it was great fun and worth every

minute!

Nice shot and especially good for a first try. I especially like the glowing brake disks and wheel blur (more blur than I would expect for a 1/400, actually).

It's a nice shot, although the composition makes it fairly ordinary.

I always find this is the hardest part of shooting at races - something I used to do a lot of. Everything's moving so fast, and unless you've got a full access pass your composition choices are fairly limited. This is above average for sure.

If this had been my first try at shooting F1 I would be pretty happy. You see a lot of F1 posters sold for a lot of money that are not as good as this.

Thanks for the comments. And yes it was quite hard work, either trying to shoot through the fence or barrier and most of the time you are looking down on the cars as they fly by hence trying to get a well framed shot of car and background is for the pass holders.

I'm definitely going back next year as I now know the better places and after seeing a few rolls and your comments. Hopefully the 2002 shots will show some serious improvement...

You must have had some great access. This is the type of shot I would love to get. I got a few great tips from some pros when I shot my first CART race this spring, A. Shoot 100 speed slide and B shoot as wide open as your lens will allow. I shot my first race with Kodak 100 at f5/6 around 1/90 and got some good results. Probably should have gone 1/125, i want to see your 2002!
