salvatore.mele 1 Posted October 14, 2004 This was taken at the end of a long day, which saw us walking up theleftmost peak through the trace you can figure out, well above 4000m,and then climb back the 3800m where this shot was taken, across theglacier. Do you like the composition?Shall you wish to see what things looked like on the way up, thenplease peruse this folder Link to comment
lawman 0 Posted October 14, 2004 Excellent image and superb composition. The mountian has been very well presented in all of you photos. Rich Link to comment
sef1664877429 0 Posted October 15, 2004 Like how the cloud follows the angle of the ridge. The foreground in the corner was definitely necessary and matches the angles on the left. It also helps draw attention to the line climbing the mountain. Is that a natural fall, or a man-made trail? Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted October 15, 2004 Stephen, that's a man made trail, a trace. We had walked over it at sunrise . Actually it's more made by people walking down rather than up, since you tend to deviate from the trace to find a nicer snow to run down fast...p.s. I had never realised the symmetry of the left ridge and foreground structure so far! Link to comment
biskamp 1 Posted October 15, 2004 This is a great shot because of the light on the glacier, the sun being rather high, which make the rocks look very dark. also the foreground in the right corner is not bad, it adds to the depth. regards, Dieter Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted November 19, 2004 Fine composition and distinct lines. Seems like you really like mountain landscapes. I would highly recommend Brad Washburn's Mountain Photography. I think you would have an enjoyable time flipping thru that book, looking thru some of his Mont Blanc images. Link to comment
