I`m trying to figure out it`s meaning. Who are the men? Nietzsche? N.N.? Luther? What`s written on the floor?

I couln't help laughing when first seeing this image. Not at the photo, but because I thought it humopurous in content. (I mean no disrespect)

Well done photograph. I am having a hard time getting the full meaning, I don't understand the letters or the photos....I think this is because the photo was made in Russia. I am in the US.

The portraits belong to two well-know Russian linguists who created the best orthographic and explanatory dictionaries and Mr. Torkvemada, The Great Inquisitor. As for the word on the floor it is clear from the letters that it may be old Russian word that means ?life?. But in Russian language the same row of letters may also mean ?Vivat!?.
