I like this photo. Talk about contrasts, not the

photo-technical ones but the soft green "do not tuch" against the "horror" down below.

I feel I owe an explanation and this is not an excuse. This area (the Middle East) is covered by an almost permanent cloud of dust which results in a poor visibility for any distance above one Km. The horror down below is at about 2 Km from the point I took the shot. I am not trying to say that the downtown is beautiful but rather that the cloud of dust does not make it look more beautiful.

Agree on contrast comment - wow. Different hues of green, the terracotta paving, serenity versus the downtown bustle. From the thumbnails I thought the tighter crop to be an improvement, but now I am in 2 minds - the ocean does give yet more run to the image - as if the image empties into it. Keep both Anton, see how they compare in the eyes of others. Well done - your capture angle is great.

I received rather contradictory comments on this shot, which makes me think it is at

least intriguing (I personally consider it one of my good shots). I'd be glad if

you'll add more comments. Do not rate please without comments.

One of the things we can all appreciate about photo.net is the diversity of the photos we see.

This is a beautiful example of this...Haifa;at least seen from this perspective is very beautiful city and I think that this photo is well balanced...the haze doesn't take away too much from the intersting harbor. The foreground is stunning!

Infact, what makes this photo interesting is this contrast between the green park and the city below. The contrast and the fact that the photo was taken in the Middle East makes it more expressive.. I'm sure Europeans and Americans are not used to this, but this is what ME is all about, contradictions. Techinically, you could have use a polariser to eliminate the haze.
