Visually and figuratively, I dont think that the quote connects to the image. I'd like to think that if you're going to lay down your life for your friends, you're more than just a pawn. Pawns are often viewed as disposable, and that verse suggests inherent value in the act of sacrifice.

I understand your point of view, but personally I don't share it. Let me tell you a story. The last time I play chess I crown one of your disposable pawns and the guy I was playing with did not look at it with out respect. When you see just a disposable pawn I can see a potential queen. But my point is that to lay down your life for other you don't need to be a queen or a king or a pawn. Life is valuable and is the most precious gift one can ever get and when you decide to give it for others it counts no matter who you are, a photographer, a salesrep, homeless people, big, small, excecutive, janitorial, disposable, indespensable. And don't forget: do not underestimate the potential of a pawn or you'll be check mate unless a pawn is around to save you. (don't take it to serious, I just thougth it was a good idea.) Regards
