Rock Marmot looks out. From Burroughs mountain, Mt Rainier, WA.

A very good shot, looks like the little animal is looking out over his kingdom. The photo feels a little cut of at the top though, but hey, you aint got all day to compose this kind of photo. I like it.

This is worth critiquing. It is a pleasant shot and technically well done (good lighting, depth of field and focus.) The marmot, unfortunately, is such a tiny critter that it doesn't fill much of the frame. Fortunately, you had that dark green background behind most of the subject. Consider cropping a little off the bottom of the picture to eliminate some of the rock with which the marmot blends and most of the area to the right since it is not necessary to the image. I think you will find that your subject (the marmot) stands out considerably more and you still maintain the sense of place.
