I gave this one a 7/7 quite while ago but only noticed today you'd posted the original photo here. What a magic! That's the power of photo retouching. A bouch of thanks for sharing.

I love what you have done to the photograph. The original pic and the reworked one are absolutely different. YOu have managed to find atmosphere and drama in a picture that did not have it to start with. Its like you "sensed" all of what you could do with it when you shot the picture. Really good work and great imagination most of all! Love all of your work.

Nour,

I chose to rate this picture instead of the POW because of my deep convictions that photography is about taking pictures not making pictures in PS (not that is anything wrong with creating art in PS). But that's just me; and I do appreciate a good picture when I see one. I give you credit for the "Morrocan child" one of the best portraits in PN: 7/7

Being shown the original and the updated one makes this a great page, one of the few that really give an indication of the amount of work that can go into making a great photo. Dont be distracted by the image/photo debate people have tinted, burned, dodged, coloured photos since the dawn of time. Its only when its done to the point of changing the picture by adding and deleting elements that I believe you cross a boundary. In this case the editing is true to the original. Fantastic cropping, the light, the sheep in the background...love this photo.

Greatings from New Zealand.

I think that once you see how it is accomplished, then the darkened half of the face competes for attention with the light side. The is the faint hint of an eye also, on that side. The face of the goat is grealy enhanced by the added contrast.
