wilsontsoi 0 Posted October 1, 2004 Nour, wonderful capture! The eyes of both subject matters are nice and clear. Have to agree with the National Geographic type of work. Nitpicking, if I may, the burned out fur on the sheep is a bit distracting, and had the framing been a tad more to the right, it would have improved the image even further, at least compositionally. Still, a very captivating image. Congrats! ^_^ Link to comment

arnab chakrabarti 0 Posted October 3, 2004 Immensely captivating pose and framing. Technically, I think a 1 or 2 stop ND might have helped reduce the sheepskin's brightness, and (depending on your metering) made the darker eye more visible. But perhaps that was not your intention. Most of your portraits are pretty powerful. Link to comment
mateo_charbel 0 Posted October 4, 2004 Nour, helue, really fascinating! Great work, like others of you. PD: IMO, ND filter could have done nothing but making the camera shoot at lower speed. Am I wrong? Link to comment
nour_eddine_el_ghoumari 0 Posted October 4, 2004 A colourful greeting to you all. Thank you very much for stopping by. I am going to try to answer some of your questions. Regarding the framing and the light metering: Sometimes we only have a fraction of a second to take a picture. therefore there is no time to frame properly and take the reading that quickly. Thanks to Photoshop we can now correct all of that as long as the information is there for it to be manipulated. We can also correct the framing by cropping or by transforming...however, if you over do it then the images looses some of its quality. In Photoshop, I go through a lot of process to get to what I want. Here, I wanted the left side of the face to be dark in this image. It adds drama and mystery to the atmosphere. What ISO? When I take all my pictures I always make sure I use a slow ISO speed setting. Usually around 80. Some of you found that the sheep at the background was too distracting. As you can see from the original image attached to this image. I have managed to get rid of a lot of distractions from the background. However, I wanted to keep a hint of at least of sheep in order to give the image a sense of place. Without the sheep in the background, you might be wondering about the location and the purpose of the image. Link to comment
