Friends at the beach

Ok, it's a snap-shot type of subject, but I really like this shot.

 

The ball and the dog halfway in the air add dynamic. I also like the

colours and the reflection of the dog.

 

What do you think? Harsh criticism appreciated! ;-)

It's actually a great shot except the ball seems to be disconnected to the rest of the scene, like it's some ufo off in the distance. What's got me is that it's so level for a handheld shot. Did you rotate the image or are you just gifted? Anyway, just crop off a bit of sky and it's a great picture, especially the dog. In fact, it's not bad with the ball cropped out...

Yep, the ball does not really appear to blelong to the scene. It would look better if it was a bit lower, at water level, I guess. Even better, I think, would be a longer exposure time (1/125? 1/60?) that would blur the ball and the dog a bit, adding both movement and meaning to the scene.
