I had pre-set my camera according to the sunny 16 rule and set my

focus to maximize depth of field. I was walking around an old

castle in Poland. When I came upon the scene, I had only a brief

moment to compose and take this picture before the old man on the

bicycle was no longer in it. It would not have been possible if I

had not been ready with the camera exposure/focus pre-set. What do

you think? Should I have framed the scene differently? Is the

cyclist too close to the edge of the frame?

I really love these shots. I may have trid to take a portrait shot though. It's a shame you didn't get there a second sooner to catch him nearer the bridge in a portrait frame. You would have had more of the superb cobbles of the road, which would have lead the viewer onto the bridge, and cut out the less interesting background of the left side. It might also have helped reduce the lens flare a touch as well. It's easy for me to say though!

That said, I think that given the circumstances, it's a great shot, that captures the mood and atmosphere of the place. I'd be pleased with it anyway!
